Caribbean 21 Strategy & tips
The card values of Caribbean 21 blackjack are mostly used as unwritten laws. However, a few of them are outlined here for those who may be new to the game. In Caribbean 21, the cards' suits really don't mean anything i.e. they are not counted or valued in any way.
Next, the cards dealt out during a game of Caribbean 21 blackjack are done from an infinite card deck. Cards that number from 2 to 10 are the value of the cards' face. Kings, Queens and Jacks are all take as 10 in value. Meanwhile, Ace cards are counted with a value of 1.
More on the rules pertaining to Caribbean 21 blackjack games is that they are usually played by a group of players where formal or informal rules are used depending on the setting. When a player gets 2 cards faced up, the dealer receives 1 faced up as well. However, the dealer must not create a hole card. Some of the moves involved are that a player is allowed to surrender, double, split, hit or stand. Both hits and stands are equal and the same just like it is with the normal blackjack.
A player is allowed to double up anytime s/he wants using 2 or a higher number of cards. This may be doubling and re-doubling when a split is made. The pair called the "Caribbean 21" which is made up of one Ace and 2 10-point cards is ranked above every other 21-point hand and this includes splitting.
The dealer too goes on to win all the ties. A player who wins must pay even money except a "Caribbean 21" which is required to pay a 3:2 on only the initial hand.
The main aim of Caribbean 21 blackjack is that a player is expected to come as close as possible to 21 but should not go over at the same time. This must be done while having a number that is higher than the one the dealer holds.
Before getting a card, a player has to wager into the Caribbean 21 game first and if that is done, the player will then be dealt with 2 cards faced up. The dealer will be dealt with 2 cards as well. The total value of the player's cards will be calculated to see if the sum is close to 21 and closer than the dealer's. If so, the player will win the amount that s/he placed as wager. Still, if the dealer's is more than 21, the player wins.
